The camera resolution is the key to success for the sharpness of detail in a video image
Detail is what counts in professional video surveillance. Only sharp images full of detail provide strong evidence. The camera resolution, specified in pixels, is crucial for the level of detail in a picture. As a general rule: the higher the resolution, the better the image quality. This must be borne in mind when selecting cameras as well as for recording on a recorder or other storage media. When it comes to resolution, megapixel cameras are much superior to analogue models and lower-resolution IP cameras: at the same resolution they can cover a much larger surveillance area or deliver higher sharpness of detail for the same sized image area.
Digital image recording
Megapixel resolution offers the significantly larger video image and thus higher detailed precision.
Analogue image recording
For D1 resolution, there is a maximum of 720 x 576 pixels.
